John 7:37-44

37 Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!  38 He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water.”  39 But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn't yet glorified.

40 Many of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, "This is truly the prophet."  41 Others said, "This is the Christ." But some said, "What, does the Christ come out of Galilee?  42 Hasn't the Scripture said that the Christ comes of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?"  43 So there arose a division in the multitude because of him.  44 Some of them would have arrested him, but no one laid hands on him.

John 19:28-30

28 After this, Jesus, seeing that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty.”  29 Now a vessel full of vinegar was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.  30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished.” He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.

Psalms 69:21

21 They also gave me gall for my food.  In my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink.

Psalms 22:14-15

14 I am poured out like water.  All my bones are out of joint.  My heart is like wax;  It is melted within me.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd.  My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth.  You have brought me into the dust of death.

John 18:11

11 Jesus therefore said to Peter, “Put the sword into its sheath. The cup which the Father has given me, shall I not surely drink it?”

Exodus 12:21-23

21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said to them, "Draw out, and take lambs according to your families, and kill the Passover.  22 You shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.  23 For Yahweh will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two side-posts, Yahweh will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.

Hebrews 9:19-28

19 For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,  20 saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you."

21 Moreover he sprinkled the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry in like manner with the blood.  22 According to the law, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.  23 It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.  24 For Christ hasn't entered into holy places made with hands, which are representations of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;  25 nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest enters into the holy place year by year with blood not his own,  26 or else he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once at the end of the ages, he has been revealed to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.  27 Inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment,  28 so Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.
